Who we are and how to reach us

The information we collect

We ask only for what is needed to assess an enquiry. Please do not send documents containing special category data or payment card details through the website forms.

• Identity and contact details: your name, business name, email address and telephone number.
• Business and funding information: trading time, monthly turnover, card takings, funding amount and purpose, existing or previous business borrowing.
• Correspondence: messages you send us by form, email, telephone or live chat.
• Technical information: IP address, browser type and the pages you view, collected to keep the site secure and working correctly.

Why we use it and our lawful basis

• To respond to your enquiry and assess what funding may be available to your business. Lawful basis: steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in operating a commercial finance business.
• To contact you about that enquiry by telephone, email or SMS. Lawful basis: your consent, given when you submit the form, and our legitimate interest in following up a request for finance.
• To share your enquiry with funding partners and credit reference agencies where that is necessary to obtain an indication or an offer. Lawful basis: performance of pre-contract steps at your request.
• To meet legal duties including anti-money laundering, fraud prevention, accounting and record keeping. Lawful basis: compliance with a legal obligation.
• To keep the website secure, monitor performance and prevent abuse. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests.

Who we share it with

To place an enquiry we may pass your details to funding partners, lenders and underwriters who could support your business, and to credit reference and fraud prevention agencies. We also use service providers who act only on our instructions, including our website hosting, database, email delivery and telephony suppliers.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for third party marketing. Where information is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by UK adequacy regulations or by standard contractual clauses.

Credit searches

The initial website form creates an enquiry. If a credit search is needed later, we will explain whether it is a soft or hard search and its potential impact before it takes place.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not proceed are kept for up to 24 months so we can evidence consent and answer any query. Where finance is arranged or provided, records are kept for at least six years after the relationship ends, in line with anti-money laundering and tax requirements. After that, data is deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

To exercise any of these, email team@gdcapital.co.uk. We respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or on 0303 123 1113.

• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Have inaccurate data corrected, or incomplete data completed.
• Ask for deletion where we no longer need the data.
• Object to, or ask us to restrict, processing based on legitimate interests.
• Withdraw consent to marketing or contact at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
• Receive certain data in a portable, machine readable format.

Automated decision making

We do not make decisions about your funding solely by automated means. Indicative figures shown by our calculator and funding match tools are illustrations only, and every enquiry is reviewed by a person.

We review this notice regularly. The date at the top shows when it was last updated, and material changes will be highlighted on this page.
